Фотограф Пол Никлен выложил в Instagram фотографии и видеозаписи с белым медведем, умирающим от голода белым медведем.

"Вся съемочная группа едва сдерживала слезы, пока мы снимали этого умирающего полярного медведя. Это душераздирающая сцена, которая преследует меня, но я знаю, что мы должны поделиться этим ужасом, если хотим сломать стену равнодушия", — написал фотограф.

В своем комментарии Никлен также написал, что вот так "выглядит голод". "Мышцы атрофированы. Нет энергии. Это медленная, болезненная смерть", — рассказал он. Эти документальные материалы, по мнению документалиста, должны привлечь внимание к проблеме глобального потепления, из-за которого лишаются пищи белые медведи. В Канаде, где проходили съемки, строго запрещено кормить диких белых медведей. Однако даже без этого запрета, фотографу и его команде не удалось бы самостоятельно спасти зверя от голода.
