US company Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company is launching a $70m chewing gum factory in St Petersburg.

Wrigley Jr. Company is launching a $70m chewing gum factory in St Petersburg.<BR>This is the company's first production project in Russia.<BR>The 7.5-hectare factory plot is near Pulkovskoye Shosse, and borders Coca-Cola's factory. The official production launch was planned for mid-May 1999, and a sample batch of gum was produced at the new factory in December 1998. Now the factory is to be officially opened.<BR>DP's sources report that the project is designed to have an annual capacity of 15,000 tons of gum, and all of Wrigley's brand-names
