Dirol And Stimorol To Be Made In Novgorod

Danish company Dandy A/S, the manufacturer of Stimorol and Dirol chewing gum, has completed construction of a new gum factory in Novgorod, representing investment totalling DEM175m.

<BR>Danish company Dandy A/S, the manufacturer of Stimorol and Dirol chewing gum, has completed construction of a new gum factory in Novgorod, representing investment totalling DEM175m.<BR>This is the Danish company's largest project in Russia.<BR>The factory, which has the capacity to produce 7,000 tons of gum annually, is to start work in August. Locally, the Danish company was until recently involved only in packaging gum imported from Denmark.<BR>"At first, ZAO Dirol will produce just two brands: Dirol and Stimorol. However, the company management are already considering the possibility of exporting their products from Russia," says Philip Way, general director of Novgorod company Dirol.<BR>"This could mean countries which maintain good economic relations with Russia," DP was told at the factory. Moreover, Dirol is actively involved in locating Russian suppliers of raw materials, who could satisfy the company's requirements already the majority of suppliers are Russian.
