<BR>The annual sales volume in the US of microscopes and amateur telescopes made by OAO LOMO amounts to $300,000.<BR>According to LOMO's marketing director, Sergei Shnurov, this made up 10% of the total sales of the enterprise's products. LOMO-America works on promoting LOMO equipment on the US market (experts name LOMO-America as the master distributor).<BR>Contracts have been signed with the distributor for 1999, according to Sergei Shnurov, worth $3m.<BR>This is LOMO's only trade representative abroad, which sells products via a network of its own dealers. "We don't do dumping," claims LOMO-America's president, Yevgeniy Luriye, "It's better to give the dealer a better discount, and then he will be more aggressive. Dealers in Russia are paid 15%, but in the USA they get far more." LOMO equipment sold in the USA, he said, costs no less than similar foreign products.
