Ecology Company Enters US Market

A city scientific and manufacturing company, Lumex, has opened a trading office in America. Ohio-Lumex, registered in Cleveland, Ohio, will promote ecological analysis equipment on the American market, according to Lumex' marketing manager, Sergei Belov.

Sergei Belov says that the organisation of assembly plants and service centres in the USA has not been ruled out. Ohio-Lumex, Lumex' official general distributor, is owned 100% by American partners.<BR>The first product to be sold in America will be highly sensitive devices for measuring the mercury content in the environment. At first, says Belov, "the Americans plan to sell five devices per month" In Russia, Lumex sold 12 units between June and December 1998. Lumex' marketologist explains the American interest in Russian technology by its price: $5,000 compared to analogous American products costing $28,000, as well as an amazing boom in ecological safety in the States.
