The Digital Equipment Corporation has chosen the Business Computer Company to be it's only distributor in the city.
<BR>The Digital Equipment Corporation has chosen the Business Computer Company to be it's only distributor in the city.<BR>For four years BCC has been promoting the computer products of one manufacturer Compaq. Negotiations with Digital began before Compaq announced plans to buy Digital for $9.6bln. BCC President Valery Lipkin told DP how their first contact with Digital took place several months before anyone knew about the 'deal of the century.' <BR>BCC now has the right to sell the entire Digital range, from laptops to Alpha superservers, and has signed an agreement to supply guarantee and post-guarantee services for Digital products. Pavel Khrapkin, director of Digital's St Petersburg office, says the corporation now expects a 40% growth in sales in the North-West region and Siberia, due to BCC's participation.
