<BR>The Komi Republic has delayed its planned issue of $100 million worth of Eurobonds to the first half of 1998. Press representatives for the head of the Komi Republic announced that the decision was based on the results of a meeting between the head of the republic, Yuri Spiridonov, and George Blume, a representative of Swiss Bank Corporation (SBC). SBC Warburg is heading the division which will organize the first issuing of Eurobonds in the Komi Republic. Spiridonov noted that the delay is connected with the crisis on the international financial markets after which large, western investors became more cautious in investing capital in the economies of developing countries . He also announced that the percent of income from the Eurobonds will be higher than planned. According to Spiridonov, before the issuing of the Eurobonds, the Swiss bank will grant the republic a $50 million loan.
