<BR>Ministry of Economics experts made the prognosis that there was only a 5% investment decline in the Russian economy this year as opposed to the 18% decline in 1996. According to experts, the decline in investment activities is gradually slowing down. The volume of investment in the Russian economy between January and September decreased by 7.1% in comparison with the 17.2% decrease for the same period last year however in September the decline was only 1.5%. Beginning in July of this year there was a bit of growth in the volume of investment in industry compared with last year. In comparing investment volume from month to month a slight growth is noticeable from the beginning of the year. Government investment activities have also continued to decline.
