<BR>The Lenoblast, Petersburg, and German governments announced their intent to create a new route for European transportation: the Baltisky Bridge. This "bridge" will connect the north-west region of the Russian Federation and Germany by one single water transportation route. The route will begin from the German city Kil, and continue through Hamburg to St. Petersburg, Moscow, and further on to various Russian regions by way of the water ways and rivers of the Russian Federation. St. Petersburg, the Lenoblast, Germany and Shleisvig-Holstein are all planning to sign a multi-sided agreement to jointly implement this project. The document will allow those implementing the project to get some of the means necessary for the beginning stages. According to local administration's bureaucratic calculations the result of this bridge is that expenses on imports and exports that are transported along this route will be lowered .
