<BR>The Petersburg tax police have transferred 15.6 trillion rubles into the federal and local budgets over the last 9 months including 9.3 trillion to the local budget, and 6.3 trillion into the federal budget. The plan for collecting taxes in Petersburg has been fulfilled 102% in comparison with the average level of 55-60% throughout Russia. This was announced at a meeting which took place last week in the department of the federal tax police. <BR>In arbitration courts this year 126 cases were heard that involved that participation of the department. The overall total of contested fines was 764 billion rubles. On average, plaintiffs succeeded in lowering the fines by 15-20%. Vice head of the department of the federal tax police said that their main goal is to collect taxes although fighting with criminals who don't pay taxes and educating tax payers also are included in their obligations.<BR> <BR><BR><BR>
