<BR>The Petersburg outdoor advertising market has experienced yet one more scandal that surfaced soon after a Tarragona chocolate advertisement that portrayed the Russian and American presidents appeared on city streets . The unique ad was created by the Moscow advertising agency AMG Propaganda and was distributed in Petersburg in Wennegren William's advertising space. The advertisement had a run of almost 2 weeks. "After we discussed this question (of the ad) with administrators, we decided (with our clients approval) to replace these ads with new Tarragona ads using a photograph of the music group Cabaret-Duet Academy. The ad campaign was not very big; there were only 15 such posters. No laws were broken. We [Russians] simply haven't gotten used tousing the president's photograph in such a way", said the general director of the Petersburg Wennegren Williams office, Sergei Kolesnikov. "This advertisement was a lighthearted, inoffensive joke. The presidents are used as a personification of each of the countries that they represent. The main thing for us was to show the absence of contradiction between them. We plan to continue this advertising series", explained the AMG Propaganda head Leonid Shutov. The Petersburg Public Advertising Council (OSR) made a special decision based on this advertisement, stating that the "given advertisement harms the business reputation of the Russian president". The OSR turned to the local department of the Antitrust Committee, suggesting that they "take necessary action to find those responsible for spreading this advertisement". "The advertisement is troublesome. These people either don't care at all or they know that the president will not file a lawsuit or they did this on purpose, hoping for some controversy which could only strengthen the advertisement", said head of the Antitrust Committee head Oleg Kolomichenko. All sides involved agree that no violations of any advertising laws have been made.
