<BR>More than a dozen Petersburg realty companies got licenses from the city KUGI (Committee of Government Property) which grant the legal right to deal in realtor activities. Arguments surrounding "license No. 1" were resolved with the help of the soft rating vote in favor of the property agency Center. One of the reasons that sympathy was shown by KUGI and the Expert Council of Realty Licensing to Center was the company's large quantity of agents who were successfully certified. Another Petersburg agency to receive a license was one of the largest local agencies: Inter Occidental which has a total of 4 certified agents. According to a member of the Expert Council of Realty Licensing, and vice president of the Association of Realtors of Petersburg, Victor Mitnikov, the difficulties with a realty business not having certified agents will be more noticeable later. Formally KUGI doesn't have the right to refuse an agency a license if all documents are in order simply because the number of certified agents is not high. Mitnikov supports the demand of the Expert Council of Realty Licensing that agents receive qualification cards, saying that it forced workers of realty companies to study the questions of business even when it affected work and profits. Presently the Expert Council of Realty Licensing is examining all licensing requests of realty agencies whose activities are well known in Petersburg. Currently more than 200 requests for licenses have been filed.
