<BR>The Petersburg administration is pushing 8 regional economic and cultural programs into the European market. City administration wants to secure the support of the Baltic countries and gain admission to the international financial institutes for joint financing of huge regional projects and programs through the European Union Commission (EU). The program "Baltic initiative of Petersburg-97" will take place from August 21 to October 28, 1997, and includes meetings and talks with ecological, social-political, and business spheres of countries that border the Baltic Sea. The administration first intends to persuade different organizations in the Baltic countries to participate in some joint ecological, transportation, and cultural projects. "The European organizations with whom the talks will take place are using the right to move projects that are being examined and financed by the EU Commission forward. <BR>
