<BR>Shell is recruiting service station managers based on family values. The company, which owns 47,000 petrol stations around the world, 60% of which are managed as family businesses, will be the first to approach the Russian market in this way. Petrol stations will be owned by Shell AZS, but operated by couples observing company standards.<BR>The recruitment agencies Kelly Services and Ankor St Petersburg were chosen for the project, and are looking for couples with an average age of 30, with initiative, the ability to make decisions, managerial capabilities and sales experience. Svetlana Tkachenko, senior consultant at Ankor St Peterburg, has had more luck. "More than 130 candidates have passed through our office. They have all gone through multiple tests, including psychological and group work tests."<BR>Tibor Kugel says that the results of the first stages of recruitment show that there is much interest among local businessmen in service station management. Over the next two years Shell AZS plans to build 25 service stations, investing an average $1.5m in each.
