Optimed Wins World Bank Tender

Local medical equipment manufacturer OAO Optimed has received an order after winning a tender that was part of the 'Medical Equipment' programme announced in May of 1998. Finance is coming from the World Bank.

<BR>Local medical equipment manufacturer OAO Optimed has received an order after winning a tender that was part of the 'Medical Equipment' programme announced in May of 1998. Finance is coming from the World Bank.<BR>The sum of the contract signed with Optimed is around $200,000. In 1999 this is a major contract for the company, which supplies portable equipment for artificial ventilation of the lungs to hospitals around Russia. OAO Optimed's marketing manager, Vadim Popodianets, noted that the tender was held by the RF Ministry for Health. Apart from Optimed, portable equipment for lung ventilation is produced by the St Petersburg State Enterprise Avrora which, however, did not participate in the World Bank tender.
