<BR>The Moscow satellite broadcasting company NTV-plus has officially opened an office in St Petersburg, effectively starting a price war with local satellite installers. NTV-plus is moving into installation partly in response to local dealers arbitrarily inflating connection charges. The company has pledged to introduced a universal pricing system and do battle with pirates illegally re-broadcasting material by cable. <BR>NTV-plus claims to have 4,500 subscribers in the city, and another 2,500 in the Leningrad oblast (an informed source says the total number is close to 5,000) and intends to install 4,000 dishes independently by the end of the year.
