<BR>On August 18 at approximately 8:50 a.m. at the intersection of Nevsky Prospect and Rubenshteina street, from the window of one of the upper floors of a building shots were fired at the vice-governor of Saint Petersburg Mihail V. Manevich's car. The shots were fired from an automatic weapon with a telegraphic sight. 8 bullet holes were found on the roof of the car. Manevich, the head of the Committee of Government Property (KUGI), died in the hospital from neck and chest wounds. Also in the car was Manevich's wife who suffered from a shot to the head. Her condition is satisfactory. The driver of the car was not injured.
